COURT TO PARTICIPATE IN TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR MAGISTRATES BY FRANCOPHONE ASSOCIATION

The ECOWAS Court of Justice will be represented by its Vice President, Justice Gberi Be-Ouattara, during a three day training programme for magistrates from French speaking African countries under the auspices of the African Association of Francophone High Jurisdictions (AA_HJF) to be held in Porto-Novo, Republic of Benin.  The training is being organised by the Association at its Regional School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) from Monday, 24th October 2022.

During the session, the Vice President will present two papers on “The effect of decisions rendered on preliminary rulings” and “The execution of judicial decisions rendered in the field of human rights,” as well as moderate discussions during other presentations. Presenters, who are professors of law, magistrates, lawyers and judges, will also intervene on the various presentations during the workshops devoted to the different levels of jurisdiction, notably the administrative, cassation, accounts, constitutional and community Court.

The AA-HJF training sessions are annual programmes that are part of the judges’ dialogue which also help strengthen the capacities of its members.
