ECOWAS COURT STAFF MEMBERS CELEBRATE BIRTHDAY

The Vice President of the Court, Honorable Justice Gberi-be Ouattara and nine staff of the Court who marked their birthdays in January were on Friday, 31^st January 2020 officially presented with a card and celebratory birthday cake by the ECOWAS Court.

The historic ceremony was attended by the President, Honorable Justice Edward Amoako Asante, other judges and staff of the Court.

The President said that the occasion, the first in the history of the Court, was a gesture of solidarity with the celebrants and part of efforts by management to motivate staff for greater performance. The ceremony came less than a month after the 18^th January 2020 ceremony in which four staff were honoured for outstanding contribution to the Court.

Among the staff those honored at the ceremony were Mr. Issa Illiasso, Mr. Sani Momoh Omosun, Mr. Harouna Issaka, Mrs.Martine Kpoke Ayissou, Mr. Sagir Abubakar Isah, Mr. Gabriel Ejowoh, Mr. Umar Mohammed, Mr. Zondiouho Sidi Aboubacar Bamouni and Mr. Kayode Akpenioykah

In remarks during the brief ceremony, the Vice President praised the Court for the honour and requested that this be institutionalized as a medium for engendering harmony in the Court.

The President, along with the other judges, had earlier met with the staff during which he discussed various issues affecting staff. He used the opportunity to assure staff of the determination of the management to continue to motivate them for greater efficiency.
